What services do you offer?I specialize in trauma-informed psychotherapy and evaluations for BIPOC individuals and immigrants affected by complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. My services encompass culturally responsive therapy sessions, brief consultations, and immigration psychological evaluations for those seeking asylum or other immigration relief. Additionally, I provide consultation services for organizations on topics related to trauma-informed services, DEIB initiatives, and employee well-being.

What is your approach to therapy?My approach is rooted in cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed care. I strive to create space for clients to explore their experiences, and work towards healing. I have received extensive training in evidence-based approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Parent Child Interaction Therapy Prolonged Exposure Therapy Cognitive Processing Therapy I welcome exploring traditional healing practices alone, or in combinations with the approaches above.

How can I schedule a consultation?You can schedule a consultation through my website by choosing a day and time that works for you. During the consultation, we can discuss your needs, preferences, and explore potential options to work together.

What are your fees for therapy sessions and evaluations?My fees are $150 for a 50-minute individual therapy session, $250 for a diagnostic evaluation, and $1,500-$2,000 for immigration psychological evaluations.

Do you take insurance?I am not currently in-network with any insurance panels, but am most likely able to provide you with a monthly superbill to be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services.

Do you offer pro bono or sliding fee scale options?Yes, I understand the financial and systemic barriers that individuals may face when seeking mental health support and thus I reserve slots for pro bono immigration evaluations and for reduced fees in therapy session based on my availability and clients’ income. Please note this is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and we may have an active waitlist for prospective clients waiting for spots to become available.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellations must be made no less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment or you will be charged the standard session fee. This is necessary because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you.

How long is therapy?Each individual psychotherapy session is usually 50 minutes and an initial assessment session can range from 90-120 minutes. For immigration psychological evaluations please plan on 2-3 hours.

How long do I need to be in therapy?Healing in nonlinear, and each heart works on their own timeframe. The length of therapy is quite variable with some patients staying for a short 3 to 4 sessions while others are in therapy for a year or more. The time will depend on their personal needs, progress, and goals.

What populations do you work with?I work primarily with BIPOC individuals and have additional specialization working with immigrants with complex trauma histories including refugees and asylum seekers, who have experienced trauma related to persecution, torture, and threats to life. I also offer support for professionals such as human rights workers and social justice activists who may experience vicarious trauma.

What geographic area do you serve for therapy services?Therapy services are available exclusively to clients residing in California. All therapy sessions are conducted online via telehealth to ensure accessibility and convenience for clients.

Whether you're located in California or elsewhere in the United States, I offer consulting support to implement trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equitable practices.

What is your background and expertise?I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and Master's in Public Health from George Washington University, complementing my extensive experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in immigrant mental health and human rights. With over 13 years of dedicated practice, I bring a deep understanding of the intersection between social determinants of health and mental well-being.
